Lydia Au, Acupuncturist & Herbalist
Lydia is a heart-centered healer and a music-loving mother of two adventurous boys. After taking some time off to fully nurture the loves of her life, she came back to the workforce and discovered Blue Heart Acupuncture. People’s Organization of Community Acupuncture (POCA) and Blue Heart’s mission of increasing accessibility and availability of acupuncture treatments and in turn improving the health and lives of our community totally resonated with her.
Lydia received her BS in Health Science at Purdue University and studied Naturopathic Medicine at Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine in Tempe, AZ. She graduated summa cum laude at South Baylo University with a Masters in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2009.
Lydia has been working as a licensed acupuncturist since 2010 in various clinic settings and no other clinic has given her so much happiness and fulfillment. She’s extremely grateful to be a part of each patient’s healing journey and assisting their progress. Outside the clinic, she loves spending time with her hubby, her Lego-master grade schooler and her dinosaur-loving kindergartener.
Jenny Euna Kim, Acupuncturist & Herbalist
Born and raised in Korea and China, Jenny E Kim, L.Ac was naturally exposed to the benefits of Traditional Eastern Medicine. After moving to US to pursue B.S. in Biochemistry, she volunteered at various departments in hospitals to expand her knowledge in the healthcare system. Having seen some limitations of conventional medicine, she started studying Traditional Eastern Medicine and was fascinated by the in-depth understanding of holistic well-being in the field of medicine. She has been helping patients restore better quality of life which is free from crippling pain and anxiety through her practice in West Hollywood, CA and Chino Hills, CA. While transitioning into a mother of two, she has been studying at Emperor’s College to become a Doctor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and has an emphasis in Women’s health and infertility.
She approaches each case with detailed process of Western and Eastern medical diagnosis to provide the most effective treatment options. She prioritizes to build an effective communication with each client and spends time in caring for each client’s needs. Her treatments focuses on maximizing the natural healing power within each individual so that the clients can live a wholesome and well-balanced life free from nagging symptoms that bring them down.
Joyce Sonoda, Acupuncturist & Herbalist
Joyce Sonoda is a California Licensed Acupuncturist and Herbalist certified in Clean Needle Technique. While completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology, her enthusiasm for complementary medicine encouraged her to accomplish a Master of Science degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.
Joyce looks beyond symptoms to treat the whole person through Acupuncture, OM modalities, OM nutrition and herbal medicine. With her well-rounded background in Kinesiology, sports medicine, and Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, Joyce is capable of achieving effective results by addressing underlying conditions that make the body more susceptible to pain and injury.
Her primary goal is to provide every one of her patients with quality care so that their mind and body can perform at their best. There is nothing more rewarding to Joyce than to see a patient improve their health and wellness through a collaborative relationship with their health practitioner.
Outside of the clinic, Joyce enjoys spending time with her fiance, her four rescue dogs, and playing Scrabble with her 90 year old grandmother.
